SUDDEN SEA: The Great Hurricane of 1938 by R.A. Scotti
Tuesday, July 22, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Although it was seventy years ago, some Riverheaders still remember the terrifying Hurricane of 1938 that ravaged Long Island and the entire Northeast coast. Drawing upon newspaper accounts, the testimony of survivors, and archival sources, author R.A. Scotti recounts the personal dramas of families tragically impacted by the storm.

When you are at the library to get a copy of this book to read, go one step further and get prepared now for possible hurricanes that might hit Riverhead. Better to be unneccessarily prepared, than unprepared when necessary. I am at the libary now and there are brochures near the reference desk about what we should have on hand. WE NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OURSELVES AND OUR LOVED ONES. DON'T FORGET PET MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY.
Thanks, leap2008. You left your blog dollars here. Come to the reference desk to retrieve them and spend them at the Yellow Barn!
